Spread the word… Earth Hour 2010

The Earth Hour 2010 will take place on Saturday, 27 March 2010.  It is a global call for action to every individual, every business and every community to take responsibility and be involved in ensuring a better future.  It is a message of hope and action for the people across the world to join together in turning off their lights as a step towards conserving our precious planet.

As a responsible corporate citizen, this blog of mine, and the writer who is me, myself ^_^ fully supports this initiative which is a step in ensuring our sustainability.

You can do your part to help save the environment by adopting any or even all of the actions below:
  1. Walk, cycle, carpool or use public transport to pledge your support for Earth Hour.
  2. Use re-usable shopping bags instead of paper or plastic.
  3. Reuse items like envelopes, folders and paper clips.
  4. Use e-mail instead of paper correspondence for internal communication.  If required, set up a bulletin board for memos instead of sending a copy to each employee.
  5. Make it a habit to turn off the lights when you’re leaving any room for 15 minutes or more.
  6. Make it a habit to turn off your computer and the power plug when you leave for the day.
  7. Make it a habit to copy or print on both sides for documents or drafts.  Avoid colour printing whenever possible.
  8. Shut off all the lights when you leave the office at the end of the day.
  9. Brighten up your cubicle with plants, which provide vital oxygen through photosynthesis.
  10. Wake up five minutes earlier every morning and put that time to use for a green project or thought.
  11. Learn how to compose and re-use organic waste instead of throwing it in the garbage.
  12. Shorten your showers to five minutes or less and you will save thousands of gallons every month.
  13. Do not throw insecticides and other harmful chemicals in the drain.
Spread the word.
